Lessons Learned From Love is Blind
Love Is Blind, a show on Netflix, is all about going deep immediately and I am here for it!
What I love about this show so much, though it sounds a little bit absurd and crazy, is that it's so big on the emotional connection. If you haven't seen it, I really think you should see it because I am sure you can (hopefully) identify good dating practices from bad ones.
But let me also share some of the major lessons to learn from Love is Blind.
Lessons learned from Love is Blind
- Own your story - When you are talking with someone who you think is a good potential partner, don’t be afraid to own your story. The things that happened to you in the past, whether good or bad, helped you become who you are today. Sharing your story boldly only shows it doesn’t hold any power over you.
- Don’t be too guarded - You are looking for a partner and that is not possible without becoming open and vulnerable. How can you connect emotionally and on a deeper level if there is a big wall between you and the person you are talking to? Yes, there happens to be an actual wall between the contestants on the show which works, but a metaphorical wall for you will never work! You need to learn how to slowly break down that wall and let another person see the real you, and only then will you know if he accepts you for who you are, and if not, then it’s “bye-bye” time.
- Be real honest about who you are - Are you the romantic type who puts their heart on their sleeves? Someone who loves to eat everything and anything? Are you super picky or a germaphobe or messy? Someone who loves to travel or wants a big family? Whatever it is, make sure to embrace that! Do not be afraid to show the real you because your person will love you for everything you truly are. The last thing you want is to be with someone you are not truly compatible with in the long run.
Don’t be scared to scare the wrong guys away as soon as possible and make space for the right guy who actually likes your quirks and matches your energy.
