Gender Roles: Are Men and Women Equal?
My wonderful hubby, Will, joins me on today’s episode to discuss the intricate dance of gender roles within relationships.
Drawing inspiration from Will's heartfelt memories of his stay-at-home mom, he paints a vivid picture of his mother's choice to embrace homemaking not out of societal expectation, but out of a genuine love for being with them.
I, on the other hand, grew up with an amazing mother too, but who always worked. It was so important for us to find out early on if we were truly aligned when it came to our expectations from our partner in a relationship.
The discussion unfolds with a critical examination of the concept of equality. Will boldly asserts, "No, we have our differences, and those differences should be celebrated, but we should be given equal opportunities and respected equally."
Tune in as we navigate through the complexities of equality, acknowledging differences while advocating for a fair and respectful relationship where each person gets to do what lights them up with the support of the other.
