The Importance Of Love Languages In Your Relationships

Let’s talk about love languages and how it plays an important role in your relationships.

For those who don’t know what a love language is, it is the way that a person prefers to express love and wants to receive love from a partner.

Here are the 5 love languages:

1. Physical Touch - A person with physical touch as their language feels love through physical affection. Doesn’t have to be sexual, just a simple hug, holding your partner’s hand goes a long way.

2. Acts of Service - This is when you do things for your loved ones, simple things that can make their day a little better, such as putting gas in the tank, doing the dishes, giving them a massage after a long day of work.

3. Receiving Gifts - Do not think that people who have this love language are materialistic, people with this love language feels love when you get them something that makes them feel appreciated, it’s the thought behind the gift that counts. It can be as simple as getting them their favorite cup of coffee even though they didn’t ask you to.

4. Quality Time - Someone with this love language wants undivided attention. Time together doesn’t have to be long, even a simple walk in the park with you and your undivided attention is more than enough. They feel loved when they feel you are totally present in the moment with them and you enjoy their company.

5. Words of Affirmation - People with this love language need to hear that you love them, and you appreciate them. It gives them the assurance that they are looking for. They express their love through spoken words.

How does knowing your and your partner’s love language play an important part in your relationship?

  • Helps you understand each other better - Knowing your partner’s love language will help you understand and love them better. I have seen so many couples fight because they do not understand their partner’s love language and they feel like their partner does not appreciate them. For example, if your partner’s love language is physical touch, and your way of expressing your love is through words, they might not receive the same amount of love, and this can cause friction in your relationship.

  • Makes your relationship more meaningful - When a couple communicate and express using their partner’s love languages, their actions towards each other become more meaningful and significant.

Listen to the episode and find out what your love language is and how you can effectively communicate this to your partner.

And remember, it has to be Crazy Love or Nothing.
